SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps? Volker: Yes I did.I played there just two years ago.
SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences? Volker: mike portnoy, jason bittner, thomas lang, David Rhoades, Matt Greiner
SD.com: Assuming that influences doesn't mean favorites, who are your favorites? Volker: I really like the china work of matt Greiner, thats awesome! As well I love the chaos parts of Dream Theater of Mike Portney, I really like listening to that band. But I also like the straight double bass parts of shadows fall with jason bitter or the monumental parts of joey jordison.

SD.com: What do you do to warm up before a show? Volker: hehe, to tell the truth... nothing. well sometimes I play drums on my legs.
SD.com: Can you remember a night you think was your best playing ever? If yes, when and where? Volker: uff, I never think that I am perfect. I always think... it must be better.
SD.com: Do you have a favorite brand of drums or cymbals? Volker:i really like different cymbals such as Tama and the costom series of Masterwork is also good. The effect of zildjian and meinl I love too.
SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be... Volker: I think it's important to find your own style, don't just copy your fuckn heros!
SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen? Volker: hmm, maybe thats joey jordison of slipknot or Rob Rolfe from Enter Shikari.
SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life? Volker: I will never be stop drummig, never!
