South Carolina's THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD, with first week sales of 3,400 of the band's latest effort, Malice, have landed at 9 on Billboard's Heatseeker Chart. The first album with new frontman Nate Johnson (ex-Premonitions of War), Malice was recorded earlier this year with producer Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore) in Florida.
We would like to say congrats to John Merryman of Cephalic Carnage and his recent endorsement with Meinl Cymbals. We would also like to thank Chris Brewer of Meinl, for all the recent contact and respect. Randy from sickdrummer.com went out on Friday and met with John at the band's practice space. He took about 200+ pictures and shot 40 minutes of video! We will be posting the picture gallery and more video footage soon, the video below is for Meinl. Thanks Randy!
Mr Ian! long time no talk brother... The rebound is still in the works! I'm still going through some stuff with DF, but I got my drums back and am keeping pretty busy. It seems that since Fetus my stock has gone up! I've taken a little me time and have already had enough! Now it's time to get the GrindStix back to work. I'm in Baltimore right now to record the new Criminal Element (Vince Matthews ex-Fetus Jason and Sparky Misery Index) We're also going to do a one off show in NYC, while I'm out here.
Next, I'm off to Illinois for a couple of days, to learn some Black metal and hit the road with Nachtmystium. We'll be doing a West Coast mini tour. I'll have to get you the dates, but I know it's Seattle to Phoenix! Then, it'll be back to New York to finish up on the Criminal and do a couple more shows with them.
Aside from this I've got all kinds of people calling me about recording for them, lessons and all kinds of stuff! Forest of Impaled will have some new material coming up too! J.p. Soars (Divine Empire) and I will be once again teaming up, now this Ive recently rediscovered the cd Method of Execution we did together and I was floored. You've got to check it out! A lot of my old black Metal bands are talking reunions.
