SD.com: How old were you when you started playing?

Flo: I was thirteen years old

 

 

SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps?

Flo: No, unfortunately I did not have that opportunity.

 

 

SD.com: Who are your top influences?

Flo: There are so many, but here goes: John Bonham, Kenneth Schalk, Sean Reinheart, Ange Curcio, Gene Hoglan, Dave Lombardo, Horacio Hernandez.......etc.

 

 

SD.com: Who are some of your current favorites?

Flo: Abe Cunningham, Dennis Chambers, Travis Barker, Danny Carey.....

 

 

SD.com: Let us know some CD's that are in your current rotation

Flo: All Radiohead CDs, All Deftone CDs, Jar of Flies (Alice in Chains), Physical Grafitti (Led Zeppelin)

 

 

 

 

SD.com: What do you do to warm up before a show?

Flo: Lots of things, lol.  About 30 minutes of rudiments and hand/feet techniques, followed by 2 minutes of stretching.

 

 

SD.com: What has been your favorite personal recording and why?

Flo: The Unspoken King, it's the one that I have enjoyed listening to the most, due to the variety of the vocals and the smoothness of the playing.

 

 

SD.com: What is your favorite drum or cymbal on your kit?

Flo: Favorite drum, is the 14x5 reference snare, and favorite cymbal is the 18" Ozone crash.

 

 

SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be...

Flo: Have fun, when it's not fun don't push it. If you want to make a career out of drumming, study law first, lol (you'll see)

 

 

SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen?

Flo: Kenneth Schalk from Candiria, every night.

 

 

SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?

Flo: I honestly don't know.
