Angelo Cedeno was born and raised in Broward County, Florida. and is soon to be 12 years old. He has been drumming for eight years. At the age of four Angelo attended his first concert (KISS Farewell Tour) where he was forever changed. Soon after Angelo expressed an interest in playing drums. He then took lessons at a local music store (MARS Music), at which time his talent was immediately identified by his instructor. Angelo continued such lessons for approximately one year and obtained his first drum kit (Pearl Export). Angelo continued to drum in a home studio designed by his father to enable his practice.

At the age of seven Angelo once again began to take lessons at his home studio. The instructor amazed at his talent suggested that the drum community be exposed to his talent. This was when Angelo obtained his endorsement via Orange County Drum and Percussion. After numerous attendances to the Winter/Summer NAMM Shows Angelo has become a familiar name amongst drummers and drum circles throughout. In March of 2003, at the age of eight Angelo formed the band Encidius along with original band members Will McCluskey and Shane La Guerre. As of recent a new front man was obtained (Alex Rodriguez) and Encidius’s debut album should release late 2006 early 2007.

The band has exploded in the local rock scene and has opened for several national acts. Encidius has further been featured on XM Satellite Radio as one of the future up and coming bands. Angelo currently plays a five piece OCDP kit with Pearl hardware, Zildjian cymbals and uses Vater Power 5B sticks, REMO heads and Axis long board double bass pedals. Angelo’s passion for drumming and skill are one to be witnessed first hand. He continues to push the envelope and believed to be his generations monster drummer. Angelo’s influences are Chris Adler, Joey Jordison, Mike Wengren, Shannon Larkin and Travis Barker. Angelo has been embraced by numerous major artists and industry personnel who support his endeavors and play a major role in his success.

The drum world has been put on notice and those that currently reign shall fall to the monster from the south Angelo Cedeno.

Angelo Cedeno Interview:

SD.com: How old were you when you started playing?

Angelo: 4 years old

SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps?

Angelo: No school band yet, but I did practice with the local high school marching band last year. I was tightening up my snare work.

SD.com: Ever take any lessons?

Angelo: I started taking lessons when I was four at a local music shop (MARS Music). I then took a brief break and started lessons back up when I was seven. I am not taking any lessons at this time.

SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences?

Angelo: Chris Adler, Joey Jordison, Mike Wengren, Travis Barker and Shannon Larkin

SD.com: Do you have a favorite brand of drums or cymbals?

Angelo: I play Orange County Drum & Percussion kits and I use Zildjian cymbals.

SD.com: Do you have any pre-show rituals?

Angelo: Pimp outfit and red-bull.
