My name's bertrand Sautier, i'm french, coming from the alps (chamonix), i'm 22 years old and i'm a drummer since i was six.I started drums because i saw a friend playing on a kit when i was six so i told myself 'dude i want to make some noise too!!' So i started taking courses in my town during 11 years, learnig all kind of music styles, from jazz to rock and latin stuff.
SD.com: How old were you when you started playing?
Bertrand: I was six, and i was already pissed of at the world so i wanted to make noise!!
SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps?
Bertrand: i played maybe for ten years in the orchestra of my town so the drum lessons were free!
SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences?
Bertrand:
Flo mounier (cryptopsy) Dirk verbeuren (scarve, soilwork) Dave Grohl David silveria Thomas Lang

Â
SD.com: Assuming that influences doesn't mean favorites, who are your favorites?
Bertrand: I really enjoy the way Kevin Talley hit the drums! it's really powerful but to me Flo mounier is the craziest motherfucker i've ever seen on drums.
SD.com: Let us know 5 CD's that are in your current rotation
Bertrand:
War from a harlots mouth (transmetropolitan) Aborted (goremageddon) Benighted (ICP) Pendulum (hold your color) Glenn Miller (all)
SD.com: What do you do to warm up before a show?
Bertrand: I don't do anything to warm up before a show because if i'm making some little movements, hitting a chair or stuff, i'm gonna stress my arms and i'm gonna make a crappy show so i just relax and drink water as the guitar players are making warm up.

SD.com: Can you remember a night you think was your best playing ever? If yes, when and where?
Bertrand: I remember a gig we played in 2006 near geneva where i had a huge fat sound coming out from the monitors!! That's the kind of gigs you loved to play cause whatever fills or blast you try to realise, you know it's gonna kick ass,and you feel like driving a train on stage!!
SD.com: Do you have a favorite brand of drums or cymbals?
Bertrand: I love my pedals!!! in fact i'm playing all the double bass up to 180 bpm with one feet, because of my giantstep (sonor) it's amazing, you can speed up to 240 bpm and keep your left foot free to give tempo with your charley! BY the way if there are some other drummers doing the same shit as me, please contact me!!!
SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be...
Bertrand: Try to create stuff you've never heard!! And play with your balls, not with your brain!!
Â
Â
SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen?
Bertrand:I would say Seb the drummer from mumakil. First time i saw them playing, it blow me away, but i'm aslo thinking of paul the drummer from the german band "war from a harlot mouth" who is realy amazing!!
SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?
Bertrand:I would probably become a lawyer, or a bass player!
