Born September 23, 1983 in Salento, south of Italy. Currently playing with the death metal legend Vital Remains, Antonio started early playing drums. As a member of five other bands in Italy: Undertakers, Traitor, Necrotorture, Stillness Blade and Exhumer, Antonio started showing his drumming very quick. He is able to read and write musical notation, and he likes also to play different styles.

SD.com: You were just in NY last month playing with Vital Remains. Will you be doing more shows with VR? Any good stories from that experience?
Antonio: Yes, I will be doing more touring vith VR.Well, the fact that New York was my first show and I was very nervous but it turned out really good, we got good response from the fans, so I think for me was great! This band are awesome and I`m honoured to playing with them!

Antonio: I was 9 years old

Antonio: No,in Italy we don`t have school bands...

SD.com: Who are your top 5 influences?
Antonio: It`s very hard to name five, I have so many...I have to say Michi Dei Rossi, he was the first drummer I got into when I started playing drums, Stewart Copeland, Derek Roddy, Dave Culross, Flo Mournier and many many more...

SD.com: Assuming that influences doesn't mean favorites, who are your favorites?
Antonio: I have many others that I enjoy listening to such as Pete Sandoval, Dave Weckl, Igor Cavalera, Virgil Donati, John Blackwell Jr, Dave Lombardo, just to name a few..

SD.com: Let us know 5 CD's that are in your current rotation
Antonio: The only cd I`m listening to now is the pre-production of the new VR album..because we`re practicing almost everyday the new stuff!

SD.com: Do you practice any particular rudiments or combos on a regular basis?
Antonio: I do single stroke rolls, both with my hands and feet, strecht out and warm up on some practice pads for about 45mins before the shows.

SD.com: Do you have a favorite brand of drums / cymbals?
Antonio: Yes, I like Sabian, Paiste, Meinl, and Ufip cymbals..Also I like Tama, Mapex, Pearl and Gms drums.

SD.com: If you could give one piece of advice to young drummers, it would be...
Antonio: Practice every day, working hard and surrond yourself by musicians!

SD.com: If you had to stop drumming, what would you want to do with your life?
Antonio: Probably I`d work into a music store, surrounded by drums and cymbals..but seriously, I don`t want to stop the drumming!
