Keep up with Lefteris Eleftheriou (warhead) here: Â
Angelcorpse is pleased to announce new drummer, Warhead, into it's ranks. Currently living in Greece, soon to move to the USA. Warhead has been involved in several works over the years such as NAER MATARON, and EMBRACE OF THORNS, among others. Warhead started drumming around 1992 at the age of 11 when he went out and bought his first snare drum and a couple of cymbals after being inspired by countless metal bands and the impressive sound of the drumming instrument. In the years 1999-2001 he played in Celestial Scream and Stellar Darkness. He believes that these bands truely sculptured him as a drummer due to each members discipline and constant rehearsals. Warhead: I got my first snare drum and hi hats when I was 10 but I did my first rehearsal at 12.   SD.com: Did you play in a school band or any drum corps? Warhead: No these things don`t occure here in Greece (especially the drum corps)...I used to rehearse in several studios back then ,trying to play Black Sabbath and Judas Priest songs...After that came thrash and so on...  Â
Warhead: Scott Travis,Dave Lombardo,Pete Sandoval,Tony Laureauno,Steve Asheim. Â Â
Warhead: Gene Hoglan, Paul Bostaph, John Longstreth, Dave Culross, Fredrik Andersson, Mike Hamilton and Derek Roddy. Â Â
 Â
Warhead: 1.Nile - Black Seeds of Vengeance. Â Â SD.com: Can you remember a night you think was your best playing ever? If yes, when and where? Warhead: It was last year in Athens where we played in the Underworld club...They had this perfect set (Pearl,I think the Masters series) and I had all the time I needed to do my warming up routine...The show in Belgium this summer was great too...We played with Kampfar and it was really fast and powerfull hehe... Â
Warhead: I`ve been using my Tama Rockstar kit on pretty much everything I`ve done but the kit is something pretty ``flexible`` in terms of drumsounds...The real identity in my opinion is given by the snare drum...And being in love with all of my snares it`s hard to choose one... Â Â
 Â
Warhead: The key is passion...Either it`s a swing beat,a funky groove or a blast beat,it`s all drumming...All you have to do is play and keep your eyes open for sessions,gigs...Always try to be ready for the right opportunity.. Â Â SD.com: Who gave the best live performance you've ever seen? Warhead: That would be Pete Sandoval on Morbid Angels first gig in Greece...Raptuuuuuuuuureeeeeeeee!!! Â Â
Warhead: Drumming IS my life so if I really had to stop I would probably die... Â |
