Job For A Cowboy has completed work on its hotly-anticipated sophomore album, entitled Ruination. The record will see a July, 2009 worldwide release date via Metal Blade Records. The follow up to the quintet’s celebrated debut album Genesis, Ruination was recorded at Audio Hammer Productions in Sanford, FL with Producer Jason Suecof (The Black Dahlia Murder) and will be mixed by acclaimed audio authority Fredrik Nordstrom (At The Gates, Opeth). Ruination marks the recording debut of drummer Jon “The Charn” Rice, who has toured with the band since the release of Genesis and features ten tracks of state-of-the-art heavy metal music. Ruination sees JFAC advance by leaps and bounds; the record is a concentrated hotbed of astounding dexterity, scorching attack, sleek arrangement and thundering musical muscle. Infectious riffs, keen dynamics and the assertive vocals of rising star front man Jonny Davy combine to produce an album that is at once powerful, expressive, confident and commanding. The New York Times referred to JFAC’s sound as “brute-force”, a commendatory claim that Ruination unquestionably validates. On the topic of the new album, front man Jonny Davy states, “Job For A Cowboy has toured the world and faced a ton of challenges over the course of the last year and a half. All of the hard work that we’ve put in and everything that we’ve experienced is directly reflected in our new songs, which we know are our best yet. Stay tuned.” |
