I just wanted to know how other drummers do their heel toe technique and if one is better than another.

I usually play falt footed, and heels up. But really it's up yo you, whatever feels comfortable to you, less effort means more endurance.

yea, I can't do heel toe. I can sort of do the motion with my right foot... But, my foot is a size 12 (which is big but isn't monstrous) so I end up hanging my foot off the pedal , so it ends up being middle of my foot (still droping the heel) then toe.
Honestly I'm not sure if playing doubles is going to sound good as I see it its pretty much a novelty i mean 99% of the time you'd be playing single strokes anyway, right?

Ok here is a video of me messing around on my roland with heel toe. Be warned I am very new to it and this is about as fast as I can go. Let me know what you think and if you got a digital camera lets see what you can do.

for some reason I can't get the embed link to work, so just follow the link above.

Not too bad at all for being new... It sounds like you are taking deep breaths, after a long concentration... try and work breathing normally into your limb practicing. Might sound strange, but it will help eventually. Don't time your breath to any count, just work on breathing normal... It can help the tempo & feel greatly...

its funny I'm actually not hold my breath, I'm sucking in air before i get started... I don't know why, I typically breath normally when I get going. I think its one of those mental things?? I'm interested to see where I can get this in a couple of weeks... whats really tough is that is uses alot of heel down muscles that i never use.
