Here's one...is there a serious lack of respect for Nick on this site? He's not in the the hall of fame, there aren't any videos of him and he's rarely mentioned at all in the forums. What's up with that? Can we get a little analysis of his technique, setups, etc? Come on, the guy has put out some of the best extreme metal work ever, in several different styles (compare 'Lock Up' to 'Cradle'). Is it just me, or am I right?

Check out this spot

digitaldreamdoor.nutsie.com/pages/best_drummers.html

Here, you'll find a list of the greatest rock drummers of all time. You'll find Nick Barker at #130, above Flo Mounier and just below Hellhammer and Derek Roddy. If mainstream rock fans can get it, why can't we? Also, the same site has a list of the greatest Death/Black bands.

digitaldreamdoor.nutsie.com/pages/best_artists-dmetal.html

You'll notice Dimmu, Brujeria, Cradle, Old Man's Child, and Cancer are all there.

We have tried to contact Nick a few times... He has been sent interviews, but they have not been returned.

No disrespect here brother...

Oh. I guess he just wants to be considered "underground". That sucks. Very disappointing.

Has anyone ever heard Nick's drums acoustically? I know he uses triggers now, but I wonder how much power he gets without them. Was "Principle" and "Vempire" triggered? I'm trying to play "Queen of Winter Throned" acoustically and am having a real hard time getting good power with the fast triplet beats. I wonder how Nick sounded in the studio room?

Nick's always been up there as one of my favourite metal drummers.

I liked his work on:

- Cradle of Filth: especially "cruelty..."
- Lockup
- Dimmu Borgir: Puritanical...
- Old Mans Child

Was really stoked when I heard he was in Testament for a while but couldn't get the VISA sorted out in time.

Heard he's in one of the Gorgoroth lineups so keen to check that out if he does an album.
