I took the bidding up to $1,650 and I couldn't hang with anymore than that.

Too bad because that kit was in driving distance of me (like 2 hours away), but on the bright side:
(1) Did I need another kit - no I have 2 my pearl export selects (which I bought for a steal BTW), and my Rockstar mix & match double bass kit.
(2) The winners reserve was probably 2 thousand +
(3) I've never tried them to see if aluminum drums even sound good
(4) Selling my Tama's would have only got me like 400 bucks for the shells and I still would have had to figure out a way to recoup the extra money (selling more of my shit)
(5) Screw it! someday when I have some real money, and I'm 10,000 grand rich (dino reference) I'll buy something crazy - Oak, Vistalite, Trick?

Tommy reference... haha funny stuff.
I played a Trick set at NAMM and it sounded amazing... I'm not trying to rub any nuts here, it really was a sick sounding kit. I would love one...

Hey Ian, I bought that kit haha too much money. I havn't really had a chance to set them up and play them much. But, I can tell they will really cut (not too sure how warm the tone is going to be??).
I wanted to ask you what you thought of the deal I got... (2) 20x18's 14 snare 8, 10, 12, 14 toms for $1,700. I saw a 5 pc go for 1,500 about a month ago so I figured I was doing pretty good, I mean i know what the list is... but not the street value.
