Need a good trigger for my bass drum 4 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
I'm looking to trigger my bass drum but I don't where to start. I really just need it for shows if that has anything to do with making a decision. My friend has a trigger that he used for a show but only used it once because whenever he hit the bass drum once it would go off multiple times and I don't want to have that problem xD

there are a couple really important settings you need to mess with if its 'double triggering' (multiple hits). what kind of drum module are you using??

Well dude, to be honest. you have to balance the sensitivity of the trigger module b/c when it isn't as soon as you play perhaps with a Bass player will go off multiple times b/c it is very sensitive. Also, you may like to set your triggers away of you'r snare that will be another problem but a very good way to know if it still sensitive while you program your module. later dude

Well I don't have a trigger yet but if I got one I would probably use the Roland TD-6v on my electric drum set(im pretty sure thats what it's called)

Other than the settings on the unit, the tuning / muffling of the bass drum makes a big difference. Most of the time I have a pillow in my bass drum touching the bottom of the head muffling the head. On my other kit I have a remo muffling ring which is basically like an Emad (emads don't work with triggers) but on the inside. I have a couple of friends who tune their drums really tight (which I'm not a fan off) and I think would make it pretty much impossible to trigger.

Think so? I have d Emad & it triggers good. Mayb cause I have the Trigger on the side of my bass drum at the same alligment of my beater & b/c I just cut a small size of the muffling ring so the trigger will fit in.
