ive been drumming for like four years now, but i still dont know shit about what triggers and what mics to use for anything..anyone got any advice or anything? i feel fucking behind on this topic.

Triggers are some eletronic device that you put in your drum. This eletronic device take the "vibration" of the drumhead e send to a module(brain). This "brain" change the signal to one pre recorded in that machine...
So you can put a barking dog sound to you drum... I think most of people here use it because it give you la definition when you play fast notes(double bass stuff) and you can really hear a extra punch from the speakers..


About microfones...

There is a lot to say... I good idea is to go to the brand website e search about drum mic... They usually have a lot of mic... Try to read the specification... it will help you a lot in a long run...
