I'm quite interested to see what drummers in metal use the smallest kits, especially those with only one rack, one floor tom. Ash Pearson of 3 inches of blood often uses one up, one down live, but more in studio. Moe Carlson of Protest the Hero uses this setup.

and... me, that's all I can think of.

Brann from Mastodon doesn't have many cymbals, but he does have a buttload of toms, so I wouldn't count him.

Matt Halpern of Periphery uses just a snare/bass/floor tom, at least live from what i could see. I think there's a lot to be said for using a set that small - really focuses your attention on the groove and less on the crazy tom fills. And yet somehow, Matt manages to excel at both...
